Do you like old-school adventures with tons of command options and borderline crazy riddle solutions? How about a self-aware comedic story full of passion and love for Pilsner beer? If yes, then this is a game for you!

It was developed by Arik Zurabian and Edo Brenes, two dudes with love for beer and point & click adventures. After several setbacks in pitching this game, they decided to move forward with it as a personal project.

In “Dude, Where Is My Beer?” you play as a mustached middle-aged man who travels and, during a bus stop in Oslo, tries to find a Pilsner to drink. Unfortunately, what he doesn’t know is that the town has been overrun with hipsters with weird beer tastes and Pilsners are a thing of the past!

Gameplay-wise, it acts as an old-school point & click adventure game. You can move and do some basic interaction by just clicking the left mouse button, but to do more stuff, you need to use one of the nine available commands. It also has a “drunkenness” mechanic, because no true Scandinavian can be brave enough to talk to strangers without alcohol in their system!

The high points of the game are the humour and the puzzles. Though the latter can be a bit weird at points, especially when they need specific use of the commands in order for them to work as intended, the humour more than makes up for it. Nothing in the story is really to be taken seriously. It even has some breaking the 4th wall moments, when the character just knows he’s in an adventure game!

All in all, “Dude, Where Is My Beer?” is a solid and hilarious old-school adventure game that can keep you company for a while, depending on how quickly you can solve the puzzles, that is. A must buy and worthy “follow-up” to the other drunken mess of an adventure game that was Lancelot’s Hangover a month prior!
