Barney’s Dream Cruise is a game developed by the Norwegian Rikard Swahn. He wrote the story and programmed the game. Rafael Pimenta created the art.

Barney, a jobless and broke guy, who lives all alone, tries to figure out a way to express his deepest feelings to Donnie. He has one serious competitor though! Michael, a rich neighbour who is also in love with him, bought two cruise tickets and he is going to offer them to Donnie for his birthday pretty soon.

Don’t let the cute anthropomorphic animals, the colourful graphics and the cheerful music fool you! Playing as Barney, the sweet dog who scratches his butt all the time, you will resort to sneaky practices, to prevent the wealthy fox from impressing the adorable bunny and conquer his heart with the gift. Additionally, toilet jokes and the references to drugs make Barney’s Dream Cruise suitable for a rather mature audience.

By using the map, you will move to six different locations such as the farm of Barney’s grandma, Donnie’s home, a Mall and more. You will visit them several times to collect objects, solve inventory puzzles and interact with the NPCs. Mailboxes and trash cans are common objects. Don’t bypass them!

The puzzles are clever, sometimes funny, other times you will have to think as a person who would do anything to obtain his goal, but they are always logical. There are no hints in the game, but if you get stuck, you can always refer to the walkthrough the developer provides on his page.
